Sa Mut A. Scott is a Nationally Certified Health Coach, Master Personal Trainer, Nationally Registered & Certified Yoga Instructor, Fitness Class Instructor, and Community Wellness Coach. She is a lifelong student of conventional and complementary wellness practices studying nursing, home health aide care, and most recently health and wellness coaching with Kaplan University. Ms. Scott studied yoga and has been certified as a yoga instructor by internationally known yoga school, Yoga Skills, Chicago Illinois.
Ms. Scott’s passion has been educating children in the urban settings grades in various ways to create healthy life style habits. Since creating Mama Yoga’s Integrated Health & Wellness Coaching in 2009, Ms. Scott and her team of wellness coaches provide basic fitness instruction using yoga, aerobics and strength and balance routines, tangible lessons in diet & nutrition, focus and stress management techniques, and conduct age appropriate workshops on health, wellness diet and nutrition to help reduce childhood obesity. Mama Yoga’s Integrated H&W Coaching also provides healthy lifestyle mentoring to at risk youth through young adulthood.
Using more than 15 years of study and experience she has created a professional development seminar designed specifically for certificated staff and E.S.P. “Wellness for Educators™” seeks to provide options for the education professional to improve his/her own health and wellbeing. Some aspects of the workshops include life coaching, and healthy lifestyle habit creation, nutrition, and movement.
Ms. Scott is known for creating community partnerships by volunteering her time, and insights for positive contribution as a board member and/or steering committee member with various organizations such as Isles, Inc., NJ Partnership for Healthy Kids, Institute of Wonderful Women, Thomas Edison State College Leadership Trenton Alumni, Rider College’s Minding Our Business Youth Entrepreneur program along with many other civic and faith based organizations.
A former radio host, columnist, the author of three books on inspiration and wellness, and creator of the Joyful Life Fitness DVD Sa Mut Angela Scott is a devoted wellness professional who uses the principals of good health and wellness to make a difference in the lives of students and educators alike.
